Rick Allert is Chairman of AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Limited and Tourism Australia.

He is a Director of Genesee & Wyoming Australia Pty Ltd, the Australia Business Arts Foundation and Chairman of the SA Chapter of AbaF, Chairman of The Aboriginal Foundation of South Australia Inc, Chairman of Australia Council’s Major Performing Arts Board, as well as a Member of the Australia Council for the Arts and a Member of the Forces Advisory Council on Entertainment.

Rick started his career as a chartered accountant in 1959 with Carroll Winter & Co, and became a Partner of Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co in 1973.  In 1979 he left the firm to form a specialist insolvency practice, Allert Heard & Co.  When Arthur Andersen acquired that firm in 1989, Rick became a professional company director. 

Some of Rick’s former appointments include Chairman of Coles Group Limited, Chairman of Southcorp Limited, Chairman of the AustralAsia Railway Corporation, Chairman of Voyages Hotels & Resorts Pty Ltd,  President of the National Heart Foundation of Australia, Member of Review of Business Taxation (Ralph Committee) and Deputy Chairman Adelaide Football Club Ltd.

Outside the boardroom, Rick is a vigneron, and football, horse racing and fishing enthusiast.
